eLearning
eLearning days are intended to counter the loss of academic momentum in the event in-person learning is canceled due to inclement weather or other unforeseeable events.
On eLearning days, students and teachers may utilize developmentally-appropriate resources to communicate and engage in eLearning experiences that are related to current classroom goals and skills, yet the learning will take place away from the school building.
What an eLearning day looks like
Grades PreK-5
For students in grades PreK-5, eLearning will involve selecting five (5) learning activities from a teacher-designed Choice Board. Parents/caregivers will sign their child's Choice Board upon completion of the learning activities. Students will have three (3) in-person school days to return their signed Choice Board to their teacher in order for their attendance to be marked as "present" on an eLearning day.
Grades 6-12
For students in grades 6-12, eLearning will involve asynchronous learning experiences uploaded to each teacher's Schoology pages by 9:00am on the day of eLearning. Students will have three (3) in-person school days to complete their eLearning coursework in order for their attendance to be marked as "present" on an eLearning day.
eLearning Communication
Communication regarding eLearning days will be sent via Skylert, posted on our District webpage, and shared via media outlets.
Teachers will update learning management systems (Seesaw or Schoology) to reflect the eLearning requirements for their students by 9:00am on the day of eLearning. Teachers will periodically check their email, voicemail, and learning management system for questions from parents/caregivers and students throughout the eLearning day.
Parents/Caregivers can contact teachers with questions via email, voicemail, or their student's learning management system (Seesaw or Schoology).
Students can contact their teachers with questions via email or Seesaw/Schoology.
