Nutrition Services Updates: Minimizing food waste and expanding Farm to School options

Nutrition Services Director Shelby Tanner recently was interviewed by WJON about details about our meal programs, including:
  • Expanding the District's Minnesota grown and raised food offerings (farm to school)
  • Offer vs Serve and Minimizing Food Waste - "[Students] really can customize their trays based on what foods they like in order to eliminate food waste and get the nutrition they need for the day."
  • Completing Meal Benefit Applications
