Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
Safety is our top priority when it comes to working with your children. We are constantly working with students to make safe choices, so now we are asking for your help to keep everyone safe during our morning drop-off and after school dismissal times. Just a reminder to please drive slowly in the lot as there will be pedestrians crossing in front of you. Please follow the procedures outlined below to help keep our drop-off and pick up area safe for everyone. To view a map of the process, click here.
Drop-off Procedures
- Please do not drop students off before 7:20 a.m. as doors are locked and there is no student supervision prior to 7:20 a.m..
- If you are using the curbside drop-off, please do the following:
- Pull as far forward as possible, to enable others to pull up behind you.
- Do not block the painted crosswalk so that those who have parked and are walking into the building can do so safely.
- Exit the lot using the north exit only if heading north – otherwise circle around to the second or third aisle away from the building.
- If you need to walk your child into the building, please park in a designated parking spot – not along the curb.
Pick-up Procedures
- Students are dismissed at 2:15 p.m. Please arrive on time to meet your child.
- Please park in a designated parking space. Tickets may be issued for parking in the No Parking zone along the curb.
- Parents will wait in two designated grade level lines outside the front doors. After displaying the school issued Student Pick-up Card, school staff will radio inside for your child(ren)s release.
- When sending a friend or relative to pick up your student, please make every effort to get them the student’s pick up card.
- Anyone arriving without a Student Pick-up Card will need to provide picture identification to school staff.
We know the weather can be unpleasant some days, hot, rainy, cold or really cold! We appreciate your patience and cooperation during pick up. Once our young students learn the dismissal routine, the entire process will last 10 minutes from the dismissal bell at 2:15p to when the last student is called. We really do become this efficient!
