Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year at Sartell High School!
-
Sartell High School Students and Families,
We are incredibly excited for the 2024-2025 school year to begin. Our work at Sartell High School is grounded in creating an environment that values all members of the school community. Each staff member is committed to building strong relationships with students while providing engaging, diverse and challenging educational opportunities to help every student find their personal excellence.
Schools across the state of Minnesota are addressing student use of cell phones and electronic devices. At Sartell High School, students will be able to use their cell phones before and after school, during passing time and at lunch. Students will not use their cell phones during class time without permission from the classroom teacher.
All student schedules will be finalized soon. In order for students to see their final schedule, parents/guardians will need to complete the annual online back to school registration in Skyward; please click here for an overview and here to access Skyward Family Access. Due to updates over the summer you may be required to create a new password. See more information on the following pages regarding schedules and schedule changes.
We are eager for the 2024-2025 school year to begin and are committed to providing the best educational opportunities for students. Below you will find important information about the upcoming school year, including several new and exciting opportunities for students including specific student times, free breakfast and lunch and more! Thank you for your partnership and we look forward to seeing you soon.

ALICE Drills: Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate
As in past school years, ISD 748 will prepare students and staff to react in a safe and timely manner using ALICE should we experience a critical incident. We will discuss ALICE strategies using short presentations at the classroom level five times this year. Please note, we do not hold simulations or roleplay with students. Our classroom discussions (drills) will be held September 6, 11, 17, 20, and 23. Per recent legislation, if you would like your student to not participate in an ALICE drill, please complete this short form.
Students will be dismissed/excused from class only during the portion of the class period of the ALICE discussion, so it is imperative parents/guardians communicate with their student(s) if choosing to opt out.

Reporting a student’s absence can be done through our attendance line which is available 24 hours a day at 320-656-0748 or through Skyward.

Tuesday, September 3: all 9th graders and any new 10-12th grade students will participate in Sabre Splash.
This day is primarily led by 11th and 12th grade mentors and the entire focus is on building an excellent foundation to the start of the SHS journey.

First Day of Class
All students 9-12th grades will have their first day of classes on Wednesday, September 4.
School will start at 9:15a (like all Wednesdays) for all SHS students on September 4.

Health Services
All medication that needs to be administered during the school day must have an updated doctor's order submitted to the Health Office each school year. Meds must be stored in the Health Office.
Please contact your school nurse if you have any questions (contact info is at isd748.org/HealthServices).
Vaccine requirements
Students entering 12th grade need to have documentation or a legal exemption for the booster dose of meningococcal vaccine (Most children received the initial dose of this vaccine when they entered 7th grade). You can find vaccination requirements here. If your child will be exempt from this requirement, we will need legal documentation provided to the school (please use this immunization record and legal exemption form).
-
Cell Phones
Schools across the state of Minnesota are addressing student use of cell phones and electronic devices.
At Sartell High School, students will be able to use their cell phones before and after school, during passing time and at lunch. Students will not use their cell phones during class time without permission from the classroom teacher. More information can be found in the SHS Student Handbook.

Lockers
All 9th grade students will be assigned a locker.
10th-12th grade students may be assigned a locker by request.
To request a locker for the upcoming school year 10th-12th grade students should complete this form.
Students must use their school-issued email to access the form. In addition, each student who participates in physical education or an extracurricular activity is assigned a locker in the Locker Room.
-
Meals
All students may receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each day.
We will continue to offer a “2nd Chance” breakfast this year for students who, for whatever reason, did not take advantage of breakfast before school began. “2nd Chance” breakfast will be free if students did not already receive breakfast that day and will be available between 1st and 2nd blocks.
It is important to pay attention to the nutritional guidelines required to constitute a full meal (both breakfast and lunch).
Students will be able to purchase additional items if money is available in their nutrition services account.
-
Sabre Advisory/Sabre Time
We will continue to have Sabre Advisory/Sabre Time four days per week. During Sabre Advisory (Monday & Thursday) students work with their advisor for age-appropriate development activities and school information as well as opportunities to build connections with each other.
During Sabre Time (Tuesday & Friday) students will have time to receive additional support from classroom teachers, attend meetings and club activities, collaborate with peers, work on homework, build independence and generally accomplish a variety of tasks.
