Elephant & Piggie's "We Are in A Play"
    Theatre for Young Audiences 2023

Elephant & Piggie's "We are in a Play!"
By Mo Willems & Deborah Wicks La Puma
    Directed by Kelli Killmer
    Musical Direction by Joanna Richards

Through a generous SSEF grant, we are able to bring to life something that has been in the works for a long time! We are bringing our first-ever Theatre for Young Audiences production to our stage in November! We are so excited to be bringing the joy of live theater to the youngest folks in our district as well as to our community!

Get ready for a musical experience, ripped from the pages of Mo Willems' beloved, award-winning, best-selling children's books, that will leave audiences doing the "Flippy Floppy Floory" dance all night long! An elephant named Gerald and a pig named Piggie are best, best, "bestus" (a word Gerald and Piggie made up that means "very best") friends, but Gerald worries that something could go wrong that would end their friendship. Piggie is not worried at all. She's even happier and more excited than usual. That's because she and Gerald are invited to a party hosted by the Squirrelles, three singing squirrels who love to have a good time. And so begins a day when anything is possible!

Auditions: Friday, September 15 - 3:45-5:30 (callbacks to follow if necessary)

Performances: Friday, November 17 - School Shows
    Saturday, November 18 & Sunday, November 19 @ 2pm (General Public)

Cast and Crew of 2023 One-Act Play
(Cast and Crew of 2023 One-Act "The Girl in the White Pinafore")

    One-Act Play 2024

    TBA

    Directed by Kelli Killmer

    Auditions: December 5-6, 2023
    Performances: Tuesday, January 23 & Friday, January 26, 2024

Fresh off a 1st place win at last year's Subsections and a 2nd place finish at Sections, we are ready to launch into another exciting One-Act Play season this year! The One-Act is a theatre experience unlike any other due to it's shorter length and competitive nature. Students tend to form closer bonds with each other, dive deeper into the material, and strengthen their theatre skills. It also offers an opportunity to watch and discuss other theatre performances, while expanding our own theatre community by meeting students and directors from other schools.

The One-Act Play is our winter production that competes in the MN State High School League's One-Act Play Tournament. There are rules the production must follow such as: the play must be under 35 minutes, the set must be able to travel and must be able to be set-up within a 10-minute time frame, and the cast and crew size must not exceed 20 students total. There are three levels of competition - subsections, sections, and the state tournament.

While we can't yet announce the title of the show, we can guarantee that it is a family-friendly show that will warm your hearts and bring a smile to your face.
