Sartell High School has a partnership with Greater MN Family Services to provide Mental Health support for High School Students. Students may receive mental health therapy without ever leaving Sartell High School. Services are provided through a family's insurance or through a grant program if a student does not have qualifying insurance. Students (or parents/guardians) interested in this service should reach out to the student's Counselor.

For any high school students interested in Mock Trial, please reach out to our advisor Anthony Weigel, or stop by the Activities office. If we do not have eight students interested in participating by Monday, December 2nd, we will not be able to offer this activity. Below is a brief description of the Mock Trial Program at SHS.Mock Trial is a statewide high school competition that is now in its 40th season. Events are held at the county courthouses statewide. The mock trials also are during school hours, usually starting at 9:00 am or 1:00 pm. on a school day. Teams are composed of 3 attorneys, 3 witnesses, a timekeeper, and a bailiff. 1 attorney for each team does the opening statement. Another attorney does the closing argument. And all 3 attorneys question and cross-examine 1 witness each. Each witness is questioned by a teammate attorney and cross-examined by an attorney from the other team. Duties may switch from event to event, so one event you may be an attorney, and another you may be a witness. Again, all interested persons are encouraged to participate regardless of any prior mock trial experience. The fact pattern and rules of the competition are the same for all participants, and I'll be available to assist with preparation regardless of skill level. We would aim to practice once a week (likely 3:30 to 5:30 pm), and likely twice a week during competition weeks, with the weekly practice time to be determined based on student availability. We also would aim to be flexible as well for students with other extracurricular conflicts. But again, mock trial events themselves are during school hours with the exception of the 1 season-opening invitational mentioned below. -
